About Thomas Supply

Serving Polk County, Texas since 1979.

Building Our Community

R.C., Mr. Joe, Thomas and his son Claud Thomas created Thomas Supply, Inc. in November of 1979.

After serving in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater, Mr. Joe returned to Polk County where he was born and raised.  In 1946 Mr. Joe first entered the building material business working for Livingston Grain and Grocery.  On February 13, 1950, Mr. Joe began work for Ernest Reuter managing Reuter Building Material.  In 1969, after 19 years at Reuter’s, Mr. Joe began work for Leggett Lumber Company where he opened Red Barn Builder’s Supply, managing it for 10 years.  Upon graduation from Sam Houston State University with a business degree, Mr. Joe’s son, Claud, began working with him.  Searching for a better way to serve the builders and the community, Mr. Joe and Claud opened their own business in May of 1980, Thomas Supply, Inc.

Graduating with marketing and management degrees from Texas A & M University, Russell, Claud’s middle son, joined the family business in January of 2000.  They continue the family tradition of serving the community with low-priced, quality building products and outstanding customer service.

As a result of 40 years of community support, Thomas Supply, Inc. has been fortunate enough to help make a difference in their community by supporting a wide range of civic and philanthropic programs.  Little Dribbler’s, Dixie League baseball and softball, school organizations and clubs, youth rodeo, bowling leagues, F.F.A.’s, 4-H clubs, Rotary, Lion’s, Pilot Club, Relay for Life, Habitat for Humanity, volunteer fire departments, church building funds, and hospital funds are only a few of the programs Thomas Supply, Inc. helps sustain.  Thomas Supply, Inc. also remains a proud annual donor to the Livingston High School Green and White Scholarship Fund, as well as, The Greater Houston Builder and Lumber Association Scholarship Fund.

The dedicated employees of Thomas Supply, Inc. and three generations of the Thomas family thank you for 40 years of loyal support.
